About this ebook

After a temperamental meltdown on stage, Sean Hightower, a regretful and resentful “one-hit wonder” rock musician hoping for a comeback, returns to his girlfriend’s condo seeking comfort from the woman he loves. But after letting himself in, he discovers her naked body on the bed, murdered from a bullet to the head. When the police detective arrives and sees the two taped pieces of paper on the wall with the word, “hello,” on one and “goodbye,” on the other, he realizes that the renowned serial killer, The Beatles Song Murderer, has struck again. In the days that follow, he reaches another conclusion—the Beatles Song Murderer is probably somebody Sean knows. Now the detective needs Sean’s help to find the killer.

A tragic, life-changing event occurred in my mid-teens that transformed me into a creative writer. Beginning with poetry, I proceeded into a decade long attempt at becoming a professional songwriter—meeting with an ounce of success and a ton of disappointment. Although I paid the bills through a long career in the landscape industry, in my heart, I’ve always considered myself a creative writer as my primary sense of self. Writing my first novel, The Poe Consequence, a story originally inspired by the number of gang affiliated housing areas I worked at, was the therapy I needed that brought me back from an emotionally tough time. The book went on to be included in Kirkus Reviews’ ‘The Best Books of 2015’ year-end issue, winner in the 2021 Book Excellence Awards for Best Fiction Novel, and winner of the Thriller category in the Maincrest Media Book Awards in 2022.My second book, You Say Goodbye, originally inspired by a story in the obituary section about Alexandra Scott from the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, was the continuing byproduct of that renewed recognition of what I expect from myself. In 2020, the book was selected as the winner of the TopShelf Book Awards for Best Fiction/Intrigue and a winner in the 2021 Maincrest Media Book Awards competition. My third novel, In Lieu of Flowers, is my first with World Castle Publishing LLC and was inspired by a true and remarkable event in the late 1800s that occurred to my grandfather as an infant in Bucharest, Romania. No reveal here, however. I’ll save that for the acknowledgement page.

You Say Goodbye… where do I begin book lovers? You Say Goodbye is undoubtedly a novel that should not be missed by anybody because the story that unfolds throughout it is genius, flawlessly written and wildly entertaining. When I read the premise of You Say Goodbye, I knew instantly that it was a book I had to read as well as a book I would love, and this is thanks to the themes alluded to throughout the premise with a strong one being a mystery. Mysteries, in general, are my go-to read but I love even more when they feature more themes than just a mystery and so when I started to read You Say Goodbye and learned that the book has this, I was thrilled, and it made me turn the pages even faster!

You Say Goodbye is a fast-paced thriller that is haunting as well as thrilling, and although the novel terrified me at points, it was still bewitching, and I still don’t know Keith Steinbaum the author of You Say Goodbye managed to do this! I think it is a combination of his flawless literature and his fast-paced narrative that had twists and turns galore. It could be these two attributes and so much more but what I do know for sure is that Steinbaum managed to keep me hooked and racing to the end thanks to his literature that was spiked with adrenaline from start to finish.

You Say Goodbye is a compelling novel that will introduce readers to the protagonist of the story, Sean Hightower, a rock musician hoping to make his big come back. However, Sean fails at his big comeback gig and so decided to find comfort with his girlfriend but what he finds instead will shock you. The reader will soon learn that due to clues left at the crime scene, the infamous Beatles Song Murderer is the culprit and soon the reader will follow Sean and a detective as they hunt him down and this book lovers is the premise of the incredible You Say Goodbye!

The story of You Say Goodbye is an intriguing one and one that left me shocked at many points. I am not talking about a small amount of shock to book lovers but rather a massive shock because You Say Goodbye provides a host of them and they are big ones! The twists and turns and the numerous shocking moments throughout the story thrilled me from start to finish and kept me entertained and turning the pages with haste. It is tough for an author to keep their readers engaged, especially when writing a thriller/mystery, so the fact that Steinbaum was able to do this and so effortlessly shows us that he is an incredible author whose work should not be missed.

What unfolds throughout You Say Goodbye is genuinely shocking, and I was always shocked and surprised because although I thought I knew where the book was going to go, it didn’t go that way and instead took a U-turn and it was exhilarating! The themes combined and laced throughout You Say Goodbye perfectly compliment the atmosphere of the book and story; the reader will experience mystery, action, terrifying and thrilling moments, and many more exceptional themes.

Keith Steinbaum is an author who has written a fantastic story and come up with a brilliant plot. Steinbaum from the very start sets the tone of the novel; he lets his readers know that this is going to be a dark and atmospheric book thanks to his literature, and wow was it! Steinbaum is an exceptional writer because he grabs his readers attention from the start very quickly and keeps them engrossed until the end. There are no long build-ups that drag in You Say Goodbye; instead, the reader will be thrown into the thick of the story quickly, and the result of this is exciting (and slightly terrifying!)
Overall You Say Goodbye is a superb novel that has everything a reader would want in a story; it has a thrilling narrative, magnificent plot development and excellent characterization that will thrill and excite its readers so of course, I have to award this impressive piece of literature five stars!
